The Secrets She Keeps

The Secrets She Keeps by Michael Robotham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow, ok where do I start? This is definitely one of those ‘psychopath’ thrillers that I really enjoy listening to. Psychopath main character? Check, I’m in! But, this book could also could be a trigger for some people, so if you don’t want to read about babies, it might not be the best choice for you.

The book starts with 2 pregnant women acquaintances and develops from there over the course of their pregnancies and births. This story is told from both their point of views with alternating chapters. In the audio version I listened to it was the same narrator for both characters which I’ve seen some people complain about but I thought it was fine as they tell you whose point of view it is at the beginning of each chapter.

So I don’t want to give anything away, but if you’re in the mood for a dual POV, psychopathic thriller about pregnant women that is fast paced and engaging, then this is for you.

I had thought that it was the first book in a series based on the cover art and I started to wonder how the series will continue. There is a character that made some minor appearances and I’ve realised now that Cyrus Haven is the main character for a new series by Michael Robotham that starts with Good Girl, Bad Girl, so I’m getting that next! The 2nd book in that series is out now (end of July 2020).

I’ll give it 4 starts because it kept me hooked but it was no Joseph O’Loughlin which I adored!
