If You Tell: A True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood

If you like: Jon Ronson, Michelle McNamarra, Eric Larson
If you’re in the mood for: true crime, nonfiction, memoir
My reading format: Audiobook

Ummm. So I have a little confession to make……I love reading about Psychopaths! Jon Ronson got me hooked with The Psychopath Test: A Journey Through the Madness Industry (which is one of the few books I’ve read twice). Then of course I had to read Without Conscience by Robert Hare.

Anyways, back to this book. It’s disturbing because it’s real. We’ve all read the murder mystery with the psychopath killer, but not too many of us know them in real life. Apparently they are 1% of the population, eek! The poor sisters in this book actually had one as their MOTHER!

I found the story fascinating and intriguing, sad and horrifying. I wanted to stop listening, I just couldn’t.

I don’t think this book would be everybody’s cup of tea. It’s not a cozy mystery or chick lit. It’s confronting and horrific.

4 solid stars from me!
