Both a Beautiful Disaster & a Walking Disaster!

These two books Beautiful Disaster & Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire have been reviewed and written about by pretty much every other book blogger out there! Beautiful Disaster was released just over a year ago in July 2012 and Walking Disaster in April 2013.  Most people would rate these books among their top 10 of the year.  You just can’t help but be drawn to the pages!  I have to agree with all the other readers and bloggers and say that these two books are fantastic books!

Beautiful Disaster is the story of Travis Maddox and Abby Abernathy told from Abby’s point of view.  They meet at college and have an intense, dangerous & addictive romance!  Walking Disaster in my opinion is just as just as good as the first.  Six months on from reading the first, it is amazing to be able to re-live the story from Travis’s POV.  He is such an intense alpha male and a hot fighter to boot!

I definitely rate these books both 5 stars.  Once I started reading about Travis Maddox I forgot about everything else that was going on in my life!

My whole life was completely taken over while reading these books and as I sat down with a glass of white and got ready to read my paperback copy of Walking Disaster, I noticed my local bookstores newsletter had labeled the book in their ‘erotica’ section.  I don’t think I agree with that but either way I was thrilled that it was in the flyer!

The blurb for Beautiful Disaster is:

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

The blurb for Walking Disaster is:

Can you love someone too much?

Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

When I was trying to figure out who Travis Maddox looks like I came across this interview that Maryse had with Jamie McGuire right after the first book was released. The author says: ‘I see someone resembling a younger David Beckham or a tattooed, pissed-off Channing Tatum’.  I am going with a tattooed Channing for my character casting!
