5 reasons I love Jon Ronson’s books

I’ve gone through a sort of ‘Jon Ronson‘ binge if you can call it that and listened to every book he’s got on audible at the moment.

Jon Ronson is so realistic on audible.  I LOVE the fact that it is him talking during the stories.  He has been through the experience and I really felt that he knows what he’s talking about.  All these events actually happened to him.

Here are my top 5 reason’s to love Jon Ronson’s books and the reviews of the books that I’ve read (or listened to….well so far only listened to) by Jon Ronson.

Reason 1

He narrates his own books on audible.

Reason 2

He has been through the experiences himself.

Reason 3

He knows what he is talking about and makes the story gripping.

Reason 4

The whole story is the story of his investigations.

Reason 5

He is totally unique.

Blurbs & My Reviews

Can’t speak highly enough about this book.  This was the first book by Jon Ronson that I listened to and still definitely my favourite.  It’s non-fiction, but reads sort of as though it’s fiction.  Amazing.   5 stars!

This is my 2nd favourite book of Jon’s.  The extremists that let him into their lives are off in another world sometimes and it’s amazing to hear how he wiggles his way into their lives over the course of sometimes year.  It was very interesting going back to the 90’s and 00’s with extremists, doesn’t feel like 15 years ago though.  Highly recommend.

I loved the part where he makes himself into different personalities to see what kind of advertising junk mail each personality gets.  It’s fascinating and engrossing and definitely worth a listen.

This is the newest of Jon Ronson’s books and up there with my favourites.  I noticed it up for a Goodreads Choice award this year so I voted for it.  When oh when Jon will you release another book?

This one was made into a movie which a lot of people have seen. It’s what put Jon Ronson on the ‘book map’ and is very interesting and completely unbelievable but believable.  I really struggled with the narrator not being Jon himself as the last 4 books I listened to by him were.

This is an interesting Jon Ronson backstory.  It’s shorter than the rest and more about Jon’s own history.  He uses his witty style to remember the days he was in a band with ‘Frank’.  It was also made into a movie and it’s very clever!  Loved it!
